Well , I have decided to learn something "crafty"- Shocking I know.
I am learning how to embroider, its relaxing and I can focus for extended periods of time. I purchased a book, found a few amazing web sites and got started. There is sooo much out there. One of the first things I noticed was that every single place said to start with a sampler, not just a sampler, but one You, the person doing the embroidery designed.
I now have a problem... I have in my head not 1 sampler but 12.
One at a time, the first one is an Einstein quote and then a few simple shapes to start. The other samplers, however could be incredible IF I can actually get them from my head to the fabric... But I am getting ahead of myself.
Mom actually had to tell me to move it a the craft store.Talk about a role reversal, I used to be the one in a hurry. O well. I am learning to see things differently. Tattoos for example, are great inspiration for an embroidery piece. Simple outlines, odd shapes etc, are great. I am getting better at most of the basic stitches, some of them are still giving me fits. Mom says " it takes the 4 P's, Prayer , Practice ,Perseverance and Patience".
Well that's an idea.... 4 P's in Embroidery.. make that 13 Samplers..
For this week,
One stitch at a time, one breath at a time, one day at a time.
